Crunchy Doritos taco salad with seasoned beef, romaine, tomatoes, black beans, corn, cheddar and creamy dressing.

# What You'll Need:

→ Meats

01 - 1 pound ground beef

→ Seasonings

02 - 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
03 - 1/4 cup water

→ Vegetables

04 - 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
05 - 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
06 - 1/2 cup red onion, diced
07 - 1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
08 - 1 cup canned corn, drained

→ Cheese

09 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Chips

10 - 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed

→ Dressing

11 - 1/2 cup ranch dressing or Catalina dressing

# How to Make It:

01 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned throughout. Drain any excess fat.
02 - Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
03 - In a large salad bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, black beans, corn, and shredded cheddar cheese.
04 - Add the slightly cooled, seasoned ground beef to the bowl with the vegetables and cheese.
05 - Just before serving, add the crushed Doritos and your choice of dressing. Toss gently until all components are evenly combined.
06 - Serve immediately while the salad is still crisp and the chips retain their crunch.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You get the best of both worlds: that nostalgic taco night flavor and the crispy, satisfying bite of Doritos in every forkful.
  • This salad’s speedy assembly and bold flavors have rescued my dinner plans more times than I can count.
02 -
  • I once made this too far in advance, and the Doritos turned to mush—always add them just before serving.
  • Switching to Catalina dressing one night completely transformed the flavor—don’t be afraid to change up the dressing.
03 -
  • Let the beef cool briefly before adding so it doesn’t make the lettuce soggy.
  • Crush the Doritos gently, not into dust—big pieces are part of the fun.
